For my history poster design I studied the history of Underwater Exploration in a Postmodernist design style. The whole idea of Postmodernist art is to make a contradiction of modernism, I contradicted the rules of design by using multiple different fonts. I also made a collage-like design by incorporating my own hand rendered drawings.
I used the rule of thirds by not placing any of the main ideas directly in the middle of my poster. The heading is in the top left corner and the biggest image of the submarine is in the bottom right corner along with the text.
I EMPHASIZED the heading and the submarine. I made the text a few different ALIGNMENTS that work with my design to create good FLOW that BALANCE with my IMAGE. I also used REPETITION with my colors. I consistently used black, white and blue which CONTRAST well with the background.
The color of the background complements the color of the text.
